2023 Lexus RX: Big Changes? Electrified?

2023 Lexus RX: Big Changes? Electrified?

The Lexus RX is one of the vehicles that helped pioneer a new market sector. It was the first luxury crossover to join the market in 1999, and it quickly became a smashing success story.

The RX is Lexus’ best-selling vehicle, making it a staple in its class. RX was also one of the first luxury crossovers to offer excellent fuel economy without losing performance with a hybrid drivetrain.

New RX models are on the way. With Toyota’s focus on electric vehicles, can this bestselling SUV again break the trend by offering only hybrid and fully electric propulsion?

Exterior & Interior Redesign

The most recent and softest iteration of the Lexus design language has resulted in the best-looking vehicles without sacrificing the aggressiveness of the first generation of Lexus automobiles.

Even though the fifth-generation Lexus RX is expected to undergo another development, it may become less controversial to attract new customers while still attracting a steady following of loyal customers.

Like Audi Q5, Infiniti Q50, and Acura MDX, the RX 2023 is expected to rise somewhat in size, which will offer it a similar outward footprint to rivals like the Infiniti QX50 and Audi Q5.

As the Lexus RX gets bigger, the inside will get more spacious. A more functional third-row option is likely to be added, although expect it only to be helpful for short journeys or families with children.

Three-row models should have the option of second-row captain’s chairs as well. The RX should keep the normal two-row, five-seat layout, allowing extra cargo capacity behind the second row.

The next-generation RX’s cabin should be as quiet as a bank vault and precisely built with loads of high-quality materials on every surface in classic Lexus flair.

The former is likely to be a part of a standard package with natural and faux leather upholstery available. As a result, we hope that Lexus will bring back the bamboo trim, which lends the RX’s interior a distinct character.

Feature & Tech

There should be a 12.3-inch touchscreen option for those who want it, while the smaller 8.0-inch touchscreen is expected to remain standard on the lower-priced variants. Don’t expect Lexus to get rid of its touchpad controls anytime soon.

With the upcoming upgrade to the Lexus Safety System driver assistance suite, more semi-autonomous driving assistance is expected to be added to the next-generation RX.

Customers will still be able to customize their Lexus RX luxury SUV with a wide range of color and trim options in the 2023 Lexus RX lineup.

The RX and RXL ranges continue to provide NuLuxe ® trim options across all grade levels, from basic to premium, based on customer feedback.

Noble Brown will be replaced by Glazed Caramel for the Luxury class in 2022. The Glazed Carmel hue is added to the Premium class’s color palette.

Under The Hood

We’ve heard rumors that Lexus plans to replace the LX’s V8 with a twin-turbocharged V6.

For the Highlander Hybrid from Toyota, the company that owns Lexus, the company sacrificed some power by offering a four-cylinder engine instead of a V6.

The 2023 Lexus RX 350 could have a 3.5-liter displacement that has been criticized for its efficiency. A turbo-four is a novel concept. However, a seven-seat luxury SUV will require a V6 engine. An engine with 295 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque remains in the lineup.

What’s the big deal about a hybrid vehicle? At this point, 310 horsepower was more than enough to get the job done. There’s a higher level of competition now.

With its PHEV system, the Lincoln Aviator is capable of producing around 500 horsepower. Is there a way I may downgrade to the same Toyota Highlander model? There’s a lot of power needed for the luxury SUV.

The 2023 Lexus RX 350 F Sport package will return. Again, this is more of a cosmetic change than a functional one. Those who are unfamiliar with the model may be confused by the name. Among the F Sport’s distinguishing features are a distinctive grille, wheels, and other embellishments.

Release Date

By the year’s end, a brand-new design for the 2022 season will be unveiled. As a result, engineers and designers will have more time and room to work on the 2023 Lexus RX 350 redesign.

It’s safe to assume that most of the work has already been completed, and prototypes should begin to appear shortly after the 2022 Model Year debut.

More information on the facelift will be revealed in the upcoming spy photos. Despite this, the whole picture will be unveiled in the second half of 2022. Fans expect big shocks.

The 2023 Lexus RX is expected to begin at $47,395. AWD adds $1,400 to the base price. The RX 450h is priced from $50,905.

Orders for the Lexus RX 350 and RX 450h BlackLine are now being taken. The RX 350 BlackLine starts at $49,450, while the hybrid model starts at $52,150.
