It will arrive on our roads only in the summer and its final lines will not be revealed until February 15, 2019. So it was in the preview that we took the wheel of the 2019 Kia Ceed 2 in camouflage uniform.
Under its colorful attributes, intended to hide the features of his body, the new Kia Ceed (no longer write Cee’d) is emerging. Inside, everything is not yet final, like the amounts of windshield covered with a plastic that is found only on board prototypes. While waiting to discover the charms of this Korean, precisely on February 15 at 12:30 on L’argus.fr, then at the Geneva show on March 6, we made the first grip.
This test driving a pre-series copy, the production of the car will start next May, has allowed us to gauge developments in the third generation of a model on which the Korean manufacturer relies heavily.

The second generation, marketed in 2012 and restyled in 2015, set the tone with a more dynamic design, and a level of comfort better studied. But if its damping is considerate, however, it lacks the Cee’d 2, now at the end of the career, this agility that today delight the drivers of Peugeot 308 or Seat Leon. The latest technology platforms developed have indeed shown real progress in this area.
On board our prototype, from the first turn of the wheels, we do not perceive immediately the changes in this register. However, we notice that the direction, a little vague before, is much more consistent and that the control box, which hung from time to time in fast driving, is more fluid.
It will be necessary to increase the pace to understand that the new platform K2 dedicated to this model brings more dynamism and driving the pleasure. More incisive in corner entry, the 2019 Kia Ceed 2 is agiler in the changes of support, and seems less heavy. In some cases, the motor skills can be faulted in case of strong acceleration, especially on the second and third gear, although the engine (which we will tell you more in detail at the revelation of the car) has a good level of power.
The level of comfort has, meanwhile, slightly increased (especially in 17-inch wheels) and the car adapts rather well the small asperities of the roadway as big compressions. Without becoming the reference of its category, the new Kia Ceed 2019 progresses in concert on several criteria and is getting closer to the leading pack in the category of compact sedans most pleasant to drive.

But, during our test, we had the opportunity to discover it in preview without camouflage, and to photograph it from every angle. 2019 Kia Ceed 2 Alternative
The Kia Ceed 2019 will find on its way a large number of competitors in the segment of general compact sedans. The Renault Mégane and Peugeot 308 are its targets, as well as – to a lesser extent, given its originality – the Citroën C4 Cactus.
But foreign manufacturers are not left out: the Volkswagen Golf, Opel Astra, Ford Focus, Hyundai i30, Seat Leon or Honda Civic feed, too, a segment very represented on the European market.
