2019 Jaguar F-Pace 25d AWD Review; What a Great SUV!
2019 Jaguar F-Pace has everything going for him, but he lacked Jaguar an intermediate diesel between the 20 d of 180 ch wise and the elitist 30 d of 300 HP. For the year 2017, the four-cylinder 25 strong 240 HP fills this gap. The Middle?
This is more than a year that J2019 Jaguar F-Pace has landed at the SUV family premium. With his coat of arms, its line and its dynamic chassis, it has all the assets to make a name on this, particularly promising market. One exception: a reduced diesel supply.
Since the launch of the Jaguar F-Pace, the customer must make a choice: two timid new blocks of the Ingenium family in 163 and 180 HP or an expensive V6 300 ch of original Ford. Between the two, a potential buyers that vacuum would like Jaguar fills more than fast. In one category or more than 90% of these models drinking at home to diesel, it’s boring.
Today, the development of 2019 Jaguar F-Pace through this famous family Ingenium. Entirely by the Jaguar – Land Rover Group, this modular engine range, based around a four cylinder two liter, offers this famous long-awaited intermediate diesel. Compared to the wise basic versions, this strong 240 HP model provides a common rail of 2 200 bars and two turbos (a variable geometry for the responsiveness at low revs and a bigger model low pressure for the extension). Let’s see.
2019 Jaguar F-Pace Pricing
This four-cylinder diesel high range of 240 HP is fitted standard with all-wheel drive and an automatic transmission in eight reports. According to the four available finishes, its rates range from
53 760 and €67 308, 4 200 to 4 €300 (5-530 to 5-€630 with the malus) is more than a 20 d AWD BVA of 180 HP.
“Compared to the F-Pace 20d with 180 HP, this 25 of 240 HP diesel requires at least €5 530 more”
€53 760. A sum already pretty for equipment in half shade. A lane departure warning and an eight-inch touchscreen is good. A simple upholstery fabric and not the slightest trace of swiveling, GPS or radar parking AV, this is really pretty.
The Prestige includes these missing elements and adds a leather upholstery and many other additional comfort facilities (see table). Is still a neat extra cost of €5 200.
By adding still €3 350 (€ 63 310), the R-Sport trim takes more or less a comparable endowment. With a more dynamic presentation and a tip of additional technology such as recognition signage.
At the top of the range, the Portfolio adds this irresistible touch of luxury expected of a Jaguar: leather upholstery full flower, power front seats, high range sound, interface further with touchscreen 10 inches and many other comfort facilities (see table).
€ 67 308, it is the least of things. Especially when we charge a backup camera or heated seats at an additional cost.
2019 Jaguar F-Pace Test Drive
Small but sturdy, this four-cylinder 2.0 diesel under amphetamines develops 240 HP and a torque of 500 Nm available from 1 500 tr/min. enough to animate the 1 810 kg of this imposing English and he worthily offers dynamism at the height of its chassis.
The accelerations are hard-hitting (0 to 100 km/h in 7.2 seconds) and the amazing extension for a small engine. On portions of unlimited German motorways in the region of Frankfurt, it is largely his rank in the face of the big local sedans. On our side of the Rhine, his appetite is limited to the vicinity of 8 l / 100 km respecting the Union 130 mph.
Despite his cylindre modest, this 240 HP diesel surprised especially by its flexibility. His punch from 1 500 rpm works wonders in the city and when the reminders. The sweetness of its automatic as, despite a management sometimes little reactive. Nothing major, especially since the manual mode allows quickly to regain control.
On Highway, only the noise disturb the silence aboard. Taking advantage of good sound proofing, diesel is so forgotten. In the Inquirer, it occurs more. Its rumblings and vibrations when reminders at low revs are unworthy of the standard expected of a such SUV. In short, if the performance of the V6 are close, not its approval or its velvety.
The chassis of the 2019 Jaguar F-Pace is up to its reputation. His leadership also specifies that informative, its agile balance and its cash flow rather masteries make a dynamic SUV that sacrifices an ounce of comfort in passing. The differences between the two modes of its Adaptive suspensions appear quite bit marked. By increasing the pace, F-Pace keeps obviously specific to these vehicles through high weight and parasitic movements affecting precision driving.
In the cockpit of the Jaguar F-Pace 2019
The Interior presentation sporty and modern changes of the German competition and the driving position is easy to find. The quality of manufacture is correct, even if an Audi Q5 is better finished yet. The leather upholstery is available only from the second level of finish Prestige.
The opening of windows controls is placed too high. This zipper in the trunk to fold the backrest. Practice. The trunk of 650 liters is particularly welcoming. After having pulled the files back (40/20/40), the volume reached 1 740 liters. On the other hand, the loading surface is not perfectly flat because of the fixed seat. On finishing Portfolio, the instrumentation cluster is customizable. The large 10 inch (on portfolio) touchscreen controls all functions of entertainment. Despite a somewhat firm seat, rear seats are welcoming and free space for the legs. The occupant of the middle is, unfortunately, less off.
CAPC F gets his rivals within the SUV family premium German and the sportier high-end models. In its four cylinders, 240 HP diesel mated to an AWD and an automatic, he can barely find direct competitors in its power range.
Diesel four-cylinder, the BMW X 3 and Audi Q5 have only 190 HP to offer and are therefore logically underperforming. The first is available in a range of prices between €48 050 and
€62 200. The second rates range between 48 100 and €57 460.
F-Pace 2019 Competition
More sports models to the prestigious coats are also out of the race with their gallons of diesel, more powerful V6. Fort of 258 HP, the very dynamic Porsche Macan Diesel S starts its offer from €63 755. The elitist Maserati Levante 275 fixed ch diesel its entry ticket even higher (€72 800).
As a result, its nearest competitor gets at the level of the Mercedes GLC. With its 2.1 204 HP diesel, the 250 d 4MATIC, BVA9 offers is virtually comparable performance (0 to 100 km/h in)
7.6 s and 222 km/h against 7.2 s and 217 km/h). It is also a bit less greedy (5 to 5.5 l / 100 km against 5.8 l / 100 km) and less expensive (from 48 550 to 58 €600 against 53 760 to 67 €308 Jaguar)
Remember, at the launch of the 2019 Jaguar F-Pace, we had regretted the absence of a diesel of 230-240 c. This new block 25 d AWD is this long-awaited interim supply. This version which should constitute one-quarter of sales offers far superior performance compared to the 20 d of 180 HP (about 45% of the mix). Tone allows him to make the most of the qualities dynamics of the 2019 Jaguar F-Pace of its refinement. Its sound any and rustic manners détonnent on an SUV charged around €60,000. High-end enthusiasts prefer the V6 certainly more expensive and confidential (about 15% of sales), but hardly more malusse and much higher approval.
