In VW’s plan to conquer the US market they decided to take a big step with their SUV line-up. New, 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan will go through intensive changes in order to meet US customer demands, but the US version will not be the only size of the upcoming Tiguan. The SUV will be built with two length wheelbase, which will allow it to offer both two- and three-row seats. The production of the three-row 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan will be done in VW’s Puebla, Mexico factory.

2018 Volkswagen Tiguan 2.0t NEWS AND CHANGES

New variant of the popular Tiguan demanded some investments into the place of its production. VW invested around $1 billion into the Puebla, Mexico facility in order to expand it and to equip it for future Tiguan’s production. New 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan year will bring, as we mentioned various enhancements. One of the first great news is the fact that it will be built on the MQB modular architecture. The standard version of the model will be 2.2 inches longer, while the version with three rows and extended wheelbase will be 7.9 inches longer than the regular version.

Although majority of New Volkswagen Tiguan changes are not known yet, some of them are. New model will have shorter front overhang, rounded wheel arches and wrap-around taillights. As far as exterior, this new details pretty much sum up the changes. Interior changes will mainly include feature’s upgrades and new interior trims. Already highly equipped, for 2018 model year Tiguan features could be slightly shifted and rearranged.

New Volkswagen Tiguan ENGINE

A turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine will continue to empower VW’s Tiguan SUV. This engine is able to generate 200 horsepower and 207 pound-feet of torque. Front wheel drive continues to be standard configuration, while all-wheel drive comes available as optional for the 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan. The power from the engine will be transmitted via six-speed automatic transmission.

So far, there are no info about another units which could be available for the 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan model. However, there is a high possibility for optional, stronger engine, as well as for a diesel unit. These info are not confirmed yet, so the only way to be sure about information we offer is to wait for a official news from the VW company itself.

2018 Volkswagen Tiguan PRICE AND RELEASE DATE

Due to lower prices of its biggest rivals, Honda Pilot and Toyota Highlander, price of the New Volkswagen Tiguan will not be much higher than the current one. There is one more reason why we don’t expect major price boosts for new Tiguan – it is its lower costs of production, or better to say transport, since the model will be built in Mexico, and therefore its shipping costs will be dramatically lower. Estimated price tag for new Tiguan will be slightly under $30,000, while the release is not expected before mid-2017.
