End Clap for the mythical G-class with this Limited Edition available in three versions produced at 463 copies each. The new Mercedes G-class will take the road in 2018.
The Mercedes G-class is a bit like an old singer who can’t get out of the scene. Every last appearance, we think it’s over and then no. Thus, after the class G650 Landaulet at the Geneva salon 2017 which masterfully crowned a long career of 36 years, there was the class G Exclusive Edition at the salon Frankfurt 2017 which should link up to the launch of the new Class G in 2018.
Model Trims; G500 & G350, Diesel and Petrol
But the G class of 1979 has hard skin and here is that Mercedes still announces three new versions that will be available in January: Limited Edition, professional limited edition and G500 Limited Edition, drawn at only 463 copies each.
This time Mercedes pays homage to the history of the G-class with the badge “Schöckl”. This is the name of an Alpine summit not far from Graz (Austria) where the G-class is made, and it has the peculiarity of owning an extremely difficult off-road track that has been used to develop the iconic SUV Mercedes. The “Schöckl” badge is affixed to the upholstery of these versions.
The three new limited series are easy to distinguish. The class G Limited Edition G350 takes on the role of the aesthete with brown leather, two-tone cockpit, contrasting stitching, Harman Kardon audio system and glazed roof. The exterior is dressed in a mocha Designo black paint, brushed aluminum look and 19-inch AMG alloy rims.
The Mercedes G-Class Limited Edition G500 offers the maximum. In addition to its petrol V8, it has a grey colour that contrasts with black parts, such as the trim in the outer protection strip. Chrome and tinted windows are of the part, while the cockpit is dressed in black leather with white stitching, a AMG steering wheel covered with microfiber and a lacquered black piano finish.
Finally, the 2018 Mercedes G-Class Limited Edition makes it reference to the ruggedness and the adventure. The many outdoor accessories dress up a blue porcelain body. The front bumper in steel, the front warning lights, the front fenders and the roof bars with a ladder access! The cockpit with fabric seats includes an extra heating for the adventure to be comfortable!
